The ambitious Bangalore Metro that offers a solution to the snail-paced, snarled traffic of India's premier IT hub, is all set to become operational from October 20, 2011.

BMRC claims Namma Metro will offer a comfortable journey for a fare that's 1.5 times more than the bus fare for the same distance. Initially, the fare has been fixed between Rs. 10 and Rs. 15. BMRCL offers smart cards for commuters. Photo K. Murali Kumar
